valentine’s day breakfast

first things first, go out and buy yourself a box of bisquick. i’ll wait…

seriously. anyone who says they just can’t bake has just never tried bisquick.

it keeps forever in the refrigerator and only needs eggs or milk or both to turn out a variety of tasty baked goods – pancakes, waffles, biscuits, shortbread… you can even use it to make fried chicken.

this recipe takes bisquick and milk. i halved the recipe on the box (yield 10) and ended up with 6.

1/3 cup milk, 1 and 1/8 cup bisquick.

mix together with a fork until a dough forms.

dust the counter with a little bisquick and turn the dough out

knead about 10 times until smooth

then roll out about a half inch thick

cut into hearts (or rounds or squares with a knife if you don’t have cookie cutters)

lay the biscuits out on a baking sheet, preheat your oven to 450 and melt a little butter.

brush the tops of each biscuit with melted butter

and pop into the oven until golden brown

only takes about 8 minutes

serve with eggs and, of course, red jam!

  1. These look yummy! Wish I was having valentine’s breakfast with you!
